Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:- A Mixpanel project and its Project ID.
- Its data residency region — United States (US) or European Union (EU).
- A service account with read access to the project (see below).
Set up a service account
Modus authenticates with a Mixpanel service account.1
Create the service account
In Mixpanel, open Organization Settings → Service Accounts and create a
new service account with a role that can read the project (for example,
Analyst or Consumer). Grant it access to the project you want to connect.
2
Copy the username and secret
Mixpanel shows the service account username and secret once. Copy both
now — you’ll paste them into Modus.
3
Find your Project ID and region
Open Project Settings. Copy the Project ID, and note whether the
project is hosted in the US or EU.
