Connect Slack so your channels, messages, and threads become context that Modus can reason over. Slack connects over OAuth — see Connecting apps for the general flow.

Who can connect

Any Slack member can connect by default. If your workspace has app approval enabled, a Workspace Owner or Admin must approve Modus — members can still start the connection and request approval.

Connect

1

Start the connection

In Modus, go to Integrations, find Slack under Communication (it’s also in Most Popular), and click Connect.
2

Authorize in Slack

Sign in to your Slack workspace and approve access in the popup.
3

Choose channels

Back in Modus, select the channels Modus should use as context. Only the channels you pick are read.

What Modus can access

Modus requests read-oriented Slack scopes to read channels, messages, users, and reactions, and to post Modus responses.
channels:history, channels:manage, channels:read, channels:write, chat:write, chat:write.customize, dnd:read, emoji:read, files:read, files:write, groups:read, groups:write, im:read, im:write, mpim:read, mpim:write, pins:read, pins:write, reactions:read, reactions:write, team:read, usergroups:read, users:read, users:read.email
