Connect GitHub so your repositories — code, pull requests, issues, and comments — become context that Modus can reason over. GitHub connects via a GitHub App installation over OAuth — see Connecting apps for the general flow.

Who can connect

Installing the Modus GitHub App on an organization requires an organization owner. Members can start the install and request approval — GitHub notifies an owner to approve. On personal repositories, you can install it yourself.

Start the connection

In Modus, go to Integrations, find GitHub under Code, and click Connect.

Install the GitHub App

In the popup, install the Modus GitHub App and choose which repositories it can access (all repos, or a specific selection). This is where GitHub’s permissions are granted.

Back in Modus, pick the repositories Modus should use as context.

What Modus can access

Access is defined by the GitHub App’s permissions and the repositories you grant at install time — read access to the selected repositories’ content, pull requests, issues, and workflow runs. No access is granted to repositories you don’t select. This is a workspace connection shared across your Modus organization. Need help? Contact us at support@getmodus.com.
